Dear supporters,

We are delighted to invite you to the Gala that will take place on Saturday 5 October 2019 from 1.30 p.m. at the Palais des Académies (Rue Ducale 1, 1000 Brussels) on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Belgian Marfan Syndrome Association (BMSA).

The ABSM has decided to be closely associated with this celebration as we will have the opportunity to present the Foundation we have created to advance the understanding of the genome to better care for rare diseases.

Eminent members of our scientific committee will also take the floor such as: Professor Anne DE PAEPE, Prorector of the University of Ghent; Professor Julie DE BACKER, University of Ghent; Professor Bart LOEYS, University of Antwerp and Professor Guillaume SMITS, Free University of Brussels.

Professors Loeys and Smits will report on this occasion the first results of the GEMS and GEMVAP work that has been carried out thanks to our action and thanks to your support! We are particularly looking forward to hearing them.

At the end of the presentations, several patient associations will sign a declaration of cooperation to the 101 Genomes Project while singer Olga Dubois will perform a Rachmaninov piece in the Marble Gallery of the Palais des Académies where a cocktail reception will be served.

You will find all the details about this event in the attached invitation.

We hope that you will have the opportunity to join us on 5 October and, if necessary, we invite you to confirm your presence via https://absm20ans.eventbrite.be.
